Rick Cumins, Broker/Owner of Cumins Realty, has been a Licensed Texas Realtor since 1999, and a Broker since 2008! I mainly list properties for sale, but I also work with Buyers. I have experience in Farm and Ranch as well as Residential and Commercial. My personal cell phone number is 817-556-8580, and I will answer it, if I know who is calling! Leave me a voice mail if I cannot. I get too many sales calls, and I do not answer if I do not know the incoming number. I am working from my home office at this time, but I can meet with you, when and where we can agree.
Before getting into Real Estate in 1999, I was in the construction field for many, many years, about 30 all-together. I framed and trimmed new homes and commercial buildings, completed many room additions, remodels, did some General Contracting, and worked 5 1/2 years with Boise Cascade BMD, as an Outside Contractor Sales Rep, and materials estimator in the early 1980's, until they sold out to Lowe's in 1985. They offered me a job in any state west of the Rockies, but this is where we call home!
I have spent most of my 70 years right here in Johnson County, Texas, mostly around Rio Vista. I graduated Rio Vista High in 1973, after 12 years here, then married Nena in July of that year. I attended classes at Hill College, LaSalle University (correspondence courses) and Midwestern University (on-line) for drafting and Real Estate. Drawing blueprints is one thing I enjoy indoors. Writing is another passion of mine. I have published many hunting articles in Texas Trophy Hunters Magazine, Wildland and The Hunter Magazines in South Africa, and Grande Safari Magazine in Monterey, Mexico, plus a few other magazines around the Country. I have two fiction novels complete, but not yet published. If you have a friend in the publishing business, please give them my information! I refuse to self-publish them. Selling Real Estate, Spending time with Grands, Hunting, Writing, and working around our place, is how I spend most of my "me-time! Together, Nena and I love to travel by private vehicle. We've been to many states, coast to coast, including Alaska (by air), and are planning more trips all the time. Canada is definitely on the bucket list. We are also supposed to return to South Africa for follow up stories with my Friend and Editor there. We enjoy good movies and TV series. One day, maybe I'll get back into fishing? I used to really enjoy that!
I am an avid outdoorsman, mostly large game hunting. I am a family man of 51 + years married to Nena Wilson Cumins. We have two children, Jason and Amanda, and four grandchildren, Samantha and Jessica are Amanda's daughters, and Sebastian and Max are Jason's sons. Of course, we don't get enough time with any of them, but we take what we can get!
I spent 25 years on the Rio Vista Volunteer Fire Department as a Volunteer Firefighter, and 20 years as an EMT. Many of those years as Vice President and President. I am about to complete 13 years as an Appointed Precinct One Commissioner for the Johnson County Emergency Services District. We govern and oversee the tax funds for all Fire Departments in Johnson County, except Cleburne and Burleson. You might say I have a soft spot for the Firefighters and Medically Trained Personnel everywhere!
Many of you know me; and have for years. You also know that I deal fairly and honestly with everyone, every time. I have many repeat Clients, and friends, in every business I have been in.
I shoot squarely with everyone, and like the saying goes, I never met anyone I didn't like.
Y'all holler if I can help you in any way?
